Eilidh qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2008, completing an intercalated Master of Research in parasite immunology along the way. She has worked predominantly in mixed practice in the UK with some time also spent working in solely small animal, emergency and charity practice both in the UK and overseas. She has a post-graduate certificate in Small Animal Surgery.

Eilidh joined the Veterinary Defence Society as a Small Animal Claims Consultant in 2023 and more recently has also contributed to the work of the Farm Animal claims team.
