Description

We will take a systematic approach to identifying the underlying cause for lameness in skeletally immature dogs, considering the onset, progression and severity of the lameness; pinpointing the focus of discomfort and considering differential diagnoses associated with common painful sites and options for further investigation.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Consider importance of signalment in prioritising likely causes of lameness.
  • Appreciate the benefit of identifying a discrete painful focus in a lame limb.
  • Maximise the benefit of radiography in making a definitive diagnosis to guide management.
